Can you tell us the story of how you started your business?
It started as a side hustle really and a way to pursue a creative outlet. Then people asked me to make them pieces, and I started to get asked to do Artisan shows. Around that time I also started to share my joy of creating with fiber and began to teach workshops. In 2019, I took the leap as a full time artist and it has been one of the best things I have done.
What kind of products do you create?
I create Unique, Bespoke Soft Sculpture Wall art inspired by nature.
What does the creation process look like?
This depends if I am creating from scratch or a commission where the process is driven by the client. Both start with a sketch, material selection and then actual process of weaving, wrapping and sculpting.
Where do you get your inspiration/what kind of materials do you use?
I live in the Santa Monica Mountains. I continue to get most of my inspiration from nature and the natural world. I use natural rope, roving wool, wire and scrap leather.
What are your most common requests for customizations from trade clients?
I would say color palette and size. Every project is so unique so it make sense. I can scale pretty large so that is a bonus.
I try to use natural and organic materials as much as possible. I also love upcycling piece to create art.
What has been the most fulfilling part of running your company?
Do you have any exciting projects in the works you can tell us about?
Is there anything else people should know about?
I was a fashion designer and learned how to sew when I was 5. Thus, always a love for fiber.
